Engine and Mechanical Specifications

The 2026 RAM 1500 offers three distinct engine choices to meet different operational requirements. Each engine is designed to provide specific levels of power and torque.

Available Powertrains

  • 3.6L Pentastar V6: This is the standard engine option for the model. It is designed for basic efficiency and standard driving tasks.
  • 3.0L Hurricane Engine: This engine uses twin-turbocharged technology. It produces 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque.
  • 3.0L High Output Hurricane Engine: This is the most powerful engine option in the lineup. It produces 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque.

The manufacturer has replaced the previous HEMI engine options with these Hurricane engines. The new engines offer higher numbers for both horsepower and torque compared to the previous versions. When equipped with the 3.0L High Output engine, the truck has a maximum towing capacity of 11,580 pounds. This weight rating allows for the transport of heavy trailers and equipment.

Off-Road and Performance Features

The RAM 1500 includes specific trims for users who drive on unpaved surfaces. The Rebel trim is the primary version for off-road use. This trim includes several mechanical changes to improve performance on dirt and rocks.

Off-Road Equipment

The Rebel trim features a suspension system that is tuned for uneven ground. It includes 33-inch all-terrain tires and a ride height that is higher than the standard model. These features increase the space between the ground and the bottom of the truck. Additionally, the truck uses Selec-Speed Control and an electronic locking rear axle. These systems help the driver maintain a steady speed and provide better traction on loose surfaces.

Interior Technology and Displays

The 2026 model includes a variety of digital tools for the driver. The truck can be equipped with more than 50 inches of total digital screen space.

Connectivity Systems

The center of the cabin holds a 14.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen. This system serves as the main interface for the vehicle settings and media. The software supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These systems allow a smartphone to connect to the truck so the driver can see maps or use phone functions on the large screen.

Safety and Driver Assistance

There are over 100 standard and available safety features in the 2026 RAM 1500. These features use sensors and cameras to monitor the area around the vehicle.

Key Safety Systems

  • Adaptive Cruise Control: This system adjusts the speed of the truck to keep a set distance from the car in front.
  • Lane-Keeping Assist: This feature monitors lane markings and provides steering input if the truck begins to drift out of its lane.

These systems are designed to assist the driver during long trips on the highway or in city traffic.

Interior and Exterior Design

The interior of the RAM 1500 varies by trim level. Higher trim levels use different materials for the seats and dashboard.

Trim Levels and Materials

The Tungsten trim is the highest level of the RAM 1500. It includes front seats with 24-way power adjustments. These seats also have heating, cooling, and massage functions. The Limited and Limited Longhorn trims use real wood and leather for the interior trim pieces.

Exterior Features

The exterior of the truck has a large front grille and LED lights. These lights provide visibility during night driving. The truck can be equipped with 22-inch aluminum wheels on certain trim levels. The body is shaped to reduce air resistance during travel.
